A Few Words from The Man
I'm a man of few words, 'cause I can't type or spell for shit, .....oh and I'm lazy. ; )
I guess I am kinda private, tho probably more
comparable to a hermit since I live in the middle of nowhere. I don't live in a
city, hell, don't even have a street address, just a rural box number.
My home is in West Virginia, rather close to Morgantown. (West Virginia University) I was born in Portsmouth Naval hospital in Virginia, raised in the military. My father was a photographer for the US Navy. Which is why ya never see me do artwork with guy's in Naval uniforms, they are a total turn off for me.
I grew up with a pencil in my hand, drawing everything I saw on TV and in comic
books. Started doing paintings in my early teens, took a year and a half of art
in college, quit because I thought it was a complete waste of time and money
(which I didn't have) started doing computer generated art in 1999, got my first
version of Poser (version 4) in 2000.
As for personal info...
I'd say, I was a typical kinda guy; meaning, I like sex, beer and heavy metal.
I grew up playing guitar in heavy metal bands.
I'm currently 6', 190 pounds (a little on the
hairy side)
Anything else anyone wants to know, they just have to ask.

Nah, don't mind at all, post away and yup, that
be a portrait of me I did about a year ago (maybe a little more). I used a
program called Painter, it's just like real time painting, love the crap out of
it, even use it for post work on my Poser renders.
I love those eyes!! Have you ever used yourself in any particular posers you've done?
I've never used myself in my artwork, other than the exaggerated use of my imagination in each situation. Do I do everything I depict...nah, but its still the stuff of my fantasies.
As to the typical kinda guy, I'm with you all the way on the sex and beer, but my music needs are more to the quieter sounds, blues, jazz, light rock, and having been an actor for over 35 years, I enjoy operatic and Broadway music as well.
I do like other forms of music other than heavy metal, blues being part of it and yes even classical. Basically, if it's played well I can enjoy it. Nuthin' beats a full orchestra live, never fails to send chills down my spine.
I've often told folks, the day I see some cutie walking down the street wearing
a T-shirt with one of my pics on it, would be the day I stop making pics. (It's
good to have goals!)

A Few Words from Daddy
I've become such a total fan of this man's artistic abilities that I've decided to create pages to Daddy's site with many of my favorite examples of ULF's work! I'll add more as it expands, and I'm sure it will!
This journey is not an effort to obtain Ulf's entire collection of his works, but renders that I found particularly arousing, artistic or just plain fascinating!
And, even with that, there are so many that I've had to expand his exhibit to eight, separate pages! I hope you all enjoy your journey through this amazing man's work!

ARTISTIC FANS OF ULF
Among Ulf's numerous admirers, are his artistic compatriots. Recently another render artist, *Angela Knight, whose work I also admire, wrote to the Ulfianfanclub a wonderful letter of recognition regarding Ulf. She has given me permission to place her letter at my site. It is copy/pasted just as she has written it, with no editorializing on my part. Enjoy!
At the risk of inflating Ulf's head...
I've been thinking about his work a lot lately. And since I am currently high on
Lyrica, I can fearlessly speak what passes for my mind. (They increased my dose
from 75 mg to 150, which is thoroughly delightful. I am no longer being ambushed
by zaps of pain, rather like having one's spine suddenly chewed by a giant rabid
ferret. Being pain free is a high all by itself.)
Ulf may never get the critical praise he deserves because his work is erotic,
and anything to do with sex in this country is automatically discounted. But
there is a dark elegance to his work, even the most nakedly erotic. (In all
senses of that word.) He looks at sex, at what we consider erotic. His men are
hyper masculine to the point that many of them bypass the male beauty often
depicted by gay artists like Tom O'Finland. They have battered faces, like prize
fighters who have spent too much time in the ring. Yet they are erotic and there
is a kind of beauty in the bulk of straining, sweat-streaked muscle.
Then sometimes he plays with the kind of Marine Corps recruiting poster beauty,
showing the raw sexuality lurking below flawlessly pressed dress uniform pants.
We are lucky to get a chance to see Ulf's artwork. I would like to hope
eventually people will see the art in it that is so vivid despite the raw
sexuality of it. In my art school classes, they said that art was communication,
which meant that the act of creating something made it art, even if it was only
a basketball sealed in acrylic. Surely Ulf's work is art, because it does what
art is supposed to do. It touches us -- not like that, Ulf -- and makes us
think. And that's art.
